Who Does the Work
The person who shows up at your door is the same person who'll answer when you call, there's no call center routing you through a script before someone with a wrench gets involved. We work directly on torsion and extension springs, openers, tracks, and panels, and we talk you through what's actually wrong before we talk about what it costs.
Most of the houses we work on around here went up somewhere between 1938 and 2003, with a heavy concentration from the 1980s and 90s, that spread matters, because a house built in the 60s often has a different door opening and hardware setup than one built in the 90s, and we've seen both often enough to know the difference on sight rather than guess.
We don't pad a job with work that isn't needed. If a spring adjustment fixes the noise, we don't sell you a new opener. If the track is bent but the door still tracks straight enough to run safely, we'll say so.

The Work We Take On
We fix broken torsion and extension springs, replace worn rollers and cables, realign bent tracks, and repair or swap out openers that have stopped responding to the wall switch or remote. We also handle panel damage, a dented section from a backed-into door, or a full panel that's rusted through on an older steel door.
Given how much of the local housing stock dates from 1938 through 2003, we run into a wide range of door ages and mounting styles, from older side-mounted torsion setups to newer center-mounted systems. We stock common spring sizes and cable lengths for that range, but we're honest when a part is obsolete enough that ordering it will take longer than most people want to wait, sometimes replacing the door section is faster and cheaper than chasing down a discontinued panel.
What we don't do: we're not a new-construction install crew for builders, and we don't do gate or fence work even though people sometimes ask. If your door is more rust than steel, we'll tell you replacement makes more sense than another patch repair.

Call and give us your town, if it's on our usual run we can often get there the same day.
What should I have ready when I call?
The door's approximate age, whether it's making a specific noise or has fully stopped, and whether the opener light comes on at all. If you know the brand, that helps too. It's not required, but it lets us bring the right spring or cable size on the first trip instead of a second one.
Do you work on older doors from the 1970s and 80s?
Yes. A lot of the housing stock in this area dates from the 1980s and 90s, with plenty of houses going back to 1938, so we see older torsion hardware regularly. Some parts for the oldest doors are discontinued, and in those cases we'll tell you when replacement beats another repair.
Why do so many springs break in winter?
Rockford sits in a cold climate band, and cold steel is less forgiving under the tension a torsion spring holds.
